Planning & Listed Building Consent

LOCAL AUTHORITY APPROVALS

Planning issues are an extremely important part of our work since most projects will require the submission of a planning application. Every aplication is carefully researched, prepared and presented. With constant monitoring of planning law and attitudes, we have a notable record for achieving successful planning permissions on behalf of our clients.

The elegant solution to some of our commissions does not always result in orthodox buildings. With a greater incentive to develop 'brownfield' and 'infill' sites than ever before, the practice has been called upon to seek the most inventive ways to maximise a site's potential.

LISTED BUILDINGS

There is a greater requirement on the designer to demonstrate the reasoned justification for any alteration to a listed building. Local Authorities will want to see that any changes are sympathetic to the original. This does not rule out the possibility of a crisp, modern addition where appropriate. We have obtained Listed Building Consent for clients on a variety of building types, both commercial and residential:

Bakers Jewellers, GloucesterManor Pharmacy, Bourton-on-the-WaterCotheridge House, WorcestershireHazeldene House, Earls Croome

We have forged very good working relationships with all Local Authorities and, whilst the majority of our work falls within Worcestershire, we are centrally placed to access projects further afield.
